Agnitum awarded the third VB100 in a row under server/business platforms
Outpost Security Suite Pro 7.0.3 praised for effective virus protection under Windows Server 2003 SP2
ST. PETERSBURG, RUSSIA, October 14, 2010 — The Internet security experts at Agnitum are delighted to announce the results of the latest antivirus tests carried out by the Virus Bulletin testing labs on Outpost Security Suite Pro 7.0.3.
According to Virus Bulletin, "Agnitum’s Outpost suite has become a familiar and always welcome participant in our comparatives, and once again it put in a solid showing".
In total, 38 personal anti-virus and security suite products were tested under Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2; more than one third of those products failed the test (including Comodo Antivirus/Internet Security, Emsisoft Anti-Malware, Frisk F-PROT and Returnil System Safe 2011 — with missed WildList samples and/or false positives).
By achieving the award for both its reactive and proactive protection, Outpost Security Suite Pro clearly shows once again its commitment to comprehensive security under all widely-used Windows platforms.
"Three successful awards in a row on one of the world’s most widely-used server platforms shows just how consistent and reliable our protection has become," comments Vitaly Yanko, Marketing Director at Agnitum. "It’s reassuring to see that smaller companies like Agnitum can continue to outperform the so-called *big-name* brands."
The architecture of Outpost Security Suite is specifically designed to provide all-round security. In addition to the traditional reactive signature-based approach to malware detection, the suite incorporates proactive behavioral protection that effectively blocks zero-day threats and prevents loss of confidential data, delivering protection that reflects real-world conditions — and real-world needs.
Outpost Security Suite 7 extends the arsenal of protection even further, with new measures against ID theft and corruption of locally-stored assets:
- protection for hidden login details and passwords stored by the browser, IM exchanges, and electronic payment processors
- protection for locally-stored confidential data against corruption by viruses and spyware
- file and registry activity monitor for deep analysis of local activity
- overhauled heuristic analyzer
- return of the popular "stop words" list to prevent users inadvertently accessing malicious web content.
In order to focus all development efforts on the most recent iterations of its software products, Agnitum plans to discontinue updates and support for versions of Outpost Firewall Pro, Outpost Antivirus Pro, and Outpost Security Suite earlier than 7.0.3 effective November 1st 2010. Customers still using older versions and having non-expired software licenses are urged to upgrade to the latest version at no charge by visiting the company’s website.
