Agnitum extends global technology license for Outpost firewall and security suite
Leading firewall vendor expands agreements with BullGuard and QuickHeal to include new Vista products
St. Petersburg, Russia (PRWEB) November 6, 2007 - Agnitum, a leading developer of proactive security technology, today announced the extension of existing license agreements with BullGuard and Quick Heal Technolgoies (formerly CAT) to cover the company's new Vista-compatible product line. This new agreement will ensure the continued inclusion of the best-of-breed Outpost firewall technology, now Vista-compliant and with full x64 bit support, in BullGuard and Quick Heal products.
We are open to negotiations with colleagues from other security software and hardware vendors and are always ready to discuss mutually beneficial arrangements.
BullGuard (www.bullguard.com), a specialist in user-friendly PC and mobile security software, will integrate Agnitum's firewall engine into the new Bullguard Internet Security Suite. Quick Heal Technologies (www.quickheal.co.in) will incorporate Outpost firewall technology into its Quick Heal Total Security.
"Quality and flexibility are key terms for BullGuard and the BullGuard product range. BullGuard chose to work with Agnitum precisely due to the well documented flexibility and quality of their technology. The Firewall component in our new 8.0 version of BullGuard Internet Security will be based on the Outpost core engine and together with the BullGuard emphasis on user-friendliness and support, we are certain that this newest edition of our flagship product will be our best yet. We are therefore more than happy to continue our cooperation with Agnitum," said Theis Søndergaard from BullGuard Ltd.
As Mr. Sanjay Katkar, CTO of Quick Heal related: "More than satisfied with this years' performance of Agnitum's Firewall technology in our re-branded Internet Security Suite we determined to continue with Agnitum for the 2008 range of Quick Heal products. We are happy to extend our partnership to the next year by including re-branded Outpost Firewall Pro 2008 in our next major product release of 2008 series."
Agnitum provides flexible opportunities for third-party technology licensing, offering full licensing of either Outpost firewall or security suite products or a combination of specific models to meet the partner's business goals. Among the major benefits offered by Agnitum's licensing program are full compatibility with 32- and 64-bit Windows Vista, reduced time-to-market, and smooth operation of the technology core in a third-party environment.
"We live in an era of integrated security solutions. Anti-virus companies license third-party firewalls and firewall vendors license anti-malware technology to extend their products' protection capabilities. Many users have already switched to all-in-one products, and we encourage vendors looking to expand their products' security functionality to contact us," said Mikhail Penkovsky, Agnitum's vice president of global sales and marketing. "We are open to negotiations with colleagues from other security software and hardware vendors and are always ready to discuss mutually beneficial arrangements."
In addition to these new agreements with BullGuard and Quick Heal, Agnitum licenses its firewall engine to Novell, Sophos, Lavasoft, Buhl-Data, and others.
