Outpost maintains a list of the most commonly used applications, which configuration files and registry hives it protects from being accessed by unauthorized processes. For example, it secures passwords and credentials stored by browsers and mailbox files stored by mail clients.

The full list of these applications is invisible to users, but on running one of these applications, Outpost adds it to the visible list, which is available in Application Guard settings.
